a lovely scottish escape
accommodating staff thoughtful touch flexible menu relaxing feel
the staff were accommodating and provided wine glasses with ice for our room it added a thoughtful touch i booked a wowcher deal for dinner where we had a set menu option or a £15 allowance towards the main menu the flexibility suited us perfectly the hermitage and the cathedral were fine places to walk and enjoy the local area it added to a relaxing feel.
the stair carpets showed wear and were visibly frayed it gave me some concern as i carried my luggage.

The room was clean. It had a comfortable bed. i appreciated the central location of the hotel near many shops and restaurants. i found free parking easily, a great feature for this village. the staff members were always helpful and responsive to any questions i had.
the bathroom was quite small.

i had a fantastic overnight stay. the rooms were clean and comfy. bottled water and tea and coffee facilities were available in my room (this was a plus!). the breakfast had plenty of selection.
the hotel is getting on in years and will need updating.

the staff provided extra towels promptly and fulfilled requests for milk. reception staff offered information on local attractions and pamphlets. a large living room with comfortable sofas was available on the first floor. i found the location ideal, close to walking paths, shops, and the cathedral (it made exploring easy).
my room was a bit small, but i understand this can occur in older buildings.

helpful staff convenient location
The staff were very helpful. They provided local information that was current and very useful (I even discovered a hidden gem of a coffee shop thanks to them!). The location of this accommodation is convenient. It is central to many walking paths, local shops, and the beautiful cathedral.
The selection at breakfast could have been a bit wider.
